Longmont Launches Fireworks Call Center
#contactcenterworld Longmont’s fireworks call center will operate from 8:30 p.m. until midnight Wednesday and Thursday from the Safety and Justice Center, 225 Kimbark St. The fireworks call center number is 303-774-4731. Callers should be prepared to give an exact address of where the illegal fireworks are being lit off, not a general area. A neighbor must sign off on the fact that they witnessed the illegal fireworks and know who used them, or a police officer must witness the fireworks to write a citation. "Due to anonymous complaints, no willing witness to testify, no exact locations, and time delays, fireworks complaints are difficult to enforce," the city’s website says. Illegal fireworks can also be reported online by going to the city’s website, longmontcolorado.gov, and typing in "fireworks in Longmont" in the search box located in the top right corner of the homepage. From there, click the link that appears.
